❋ Gas Tank to High-Efficiency Tankless

Qualifying SoCalGas customers may receive a rebate of up to $1,500 when replacing a conventional natural-gas tank water heater with certain high-efficiency tankless equipment.

The highest rebate generally requires a qualifying unit with a UEF of 0.98 or higher and installation in an existing detached single-family home.

❋ Gas Tank to Electric Heat Pump Water Heater

Heat pump water heaters use electricity to move heat into the water rather than creating heat directly. Depending on the property address, electric utility, equipment and household eligibility, several incentive programs may be available.

LADWP currently offers qualifying residential customers between $1,500 and $2,500 per heat pump water heater. Additional programs may be available through TECH Clean California, South Coast AQMD GO ZERO or a local municipal utility.

Some incentives may be combined, subject to each program’s rules, available funding and total project-cost limitations.

❋ Property Owners, HOAs and Small Businesses

Water-heater incentives may also be available for:

  • Individual water heaters in apartment or condominium units

  • Multiple heat pump water heaters submitted as one property project

  • Central domestic hot-water equipment

  • Qualifying small-business water-heater replacements

  • Gas tank-to-tankless replacement programs

Properties with five or more units frequently follow different program requirements than single-family homes. Contact SureFix before purchasing equipment so we can review the building configuration, metering, electrical capacity and current program status.

❋ New San Fernando Valley Heat Pump Incentives

New TECH Clean California incentives are expected for designated communities affected by the Aliso Canyon gas storage facility.

Eligible areas include portions of Porter Ranch, Granada Hills, Northridge, Chatsworth, North Hills, Canoga Park, Reseda, Winnetka, West Hills, Van Nuys and Lake Balboa.

Expected incentives include support for heat pump water heaters, electrical improvements and other home-electrification measures. Higher amounts may be available to income-qualified households.

The program is still finalizing enrollment details, qualifying equipment and application procedures. SureFix can collect your property information now and contact you when we are authorized to submit eligible projects.
