We'll tell you honestly whether a repair makes sense or whether your unit is near the end of its life, so you don't put money into a water heater that's about to fail.
Common repairs
Pilot light won't stay lit or burner won't ignite
Thermocouple, gas valve or igniter replacement
Electric heating element and thermostat replacement
Leaking drain valve or relief valve
Tankless error codes, scale buildup and flushing
Rotten-egg smell or discolored water
Expansion tank replacement
Repair or replace?
Repair usually makes sense when the unit is under about 8 years old and the tank itself isn't leaking. If the tank is leaking or the unit is 10+ years old, replacement is usually the better value. We'll give you both options and prices so you can decide.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my water heater leaking?
A leak from a valve or fitting can often be repaired. A leak from the tank itself means the tank has failed and needs to be replaced.
Do you repair tankless water heaters?
Yes. We service and repair Rinnai, Noritz, Navien and other major brands, including descaling flushes.
How often should a water heater be flushed?
Tank units: about once a year. Tankless units: every 1–2 years, more often with hard water.
