Whole-Home Repiping

A lot of Valley homes still have their original galvanized steel pipes. After 50 or 60 years they rust from the inside, and you start seeing low pressure, brown water and leaks that keep coming back. A repipe replaces the water lines in the house so you stop chasing one leak after another.

Signs it may be time to repipe

  • Low water pressure, especially when two fixtures run at once
  • Brown or rusty water when you first turn on a tap
  • Leaks in more than one spot, or repeat leaks in the same line
  • Galvanized pipe showing at the water heater, under sinks or at the main
  • You're remodeling and the walls are already open

How a repipe works

We start by looking at what you have now and where the lines run. Then we lay out new supply lines to every fixture, usually in PEX or copper depending on the house and what you prefer, and we explain the difference before you decide.

Most of the work happens through small openings in walls and ceilings rather than tearing everything out. We protect floors and furniture, keep you posted on when the water will be off, and test the whole system before we close up.

Permits and inspection

A repipe needs a plumbing permit. We pull it and schedule the inspection with LADBS or your city, so the work is on record when you sell or refinance.

Common questions

How long does a repipe take?

It depends on the size of the house and how many bathrooms you have. We give you a schedule up front, and we work so you have water at night whenever we can.

PEX or copper?

Both are good choices. PEX is flexible and quieter, copper is the traditional option. We'll walk you through the pros and cons for your house.

Do you patch the walls?

We'll tell you up front how the openings get closed up so there are no surprises at the end.
